County Fire Station 38 (East Otay Mesa)

San Diego, California

This fire station is the first of a new wave of stations (both new construction and renovations of existing stations) for San Diego County, all of which will carry goals of embodied carbon reduction and/or net zero emissions.

How Max Compact Exterior Panels Added Value

Fundermax was selected by the architect and the county as the cladding material for the façade and soffits of the building not only because of the durability and beauty of our panels, but also because of our embodied carbon rating, which contributed to both the LEED Gold Certification as well as the project’s overall goal of a 30% embodied carbon reduction.

Fundermax was also able to offer our custom digital printing services to print the fire station logo as well as a mural representing various aspects of the San Diego climate and landscape.
