Daycare Center & Parish Hall
This evangelist church houses the Union congregation and it has a group of buildings that include a children's day-care center and a parish hall. The octagonal-shaped parish hall creates clear geometry that captures the skyline of Union Street and gives access to the preschool and the community center.
The compact volume of this community center allows for multi-disciplinary use. The project was conceived with energy efficiency in mind using the right building technology. The economic and sustainable orientation was the foundation for this project.
The consistent layout of the Authentic phenolic panels in stripes helps to create the compact volume that the architects were looking for. The structure of the façade creates an open space and protection for the community's various activities.
The panels of the façade and the roof help also to create an archetypical image of calm and tranquility.
Authentic makes the building something special. The project was awarded first place in 2009 in an invited competition.
