Centro Commercial Galerías
The Centro Commercial Galerias is a shopping center in San Salvador, El Salvador owned by Grupo Siman. Among the mall's attractions is a mansion known as La Casona dating from the late 1950s and kept in perfect condition, which was home to a family of Palestinian origin. It is the only mall to have such an attraction.
One of the main challenges for the construction of the mall was to maintain the mansion, La Casona. More than 2,000 workers had to take extreme security measures to avoid damaging the historic European architecture. Currently, Galerias has an area of 115,000 square meters and has over 133 local and foreign stores.
In 2006 the building was first remodeled to add one floor for a new movie theatre, Cinépolis Mexican. In 2018, the exterior of the building was remodeled and converted into a multi-colored rainscreen façade with Fundermax HPL panels.
The wide range of colors for Max Compact Exterior allowed the creation of a dynamic yet attractive façade. A number of the greyish blue decors were beautifully combined, providing the building a sense of corporate identity.
The high durability and weather-resistance of Max Compact Exterior panels allows a long-lasting façade that will be able to show the greatest look possible for years, even decades.
