Atrium Health's Cannon Pediatrics Translational Research Lab

Charlotte, North Carolina

Atrium Health is a nationally recognized leader in shaping health outcomes through innovative research, education, and compassionate patient care. In July 2020, New England Lab was awarded the project to provide three new research labs for the Atrium Health facility in Charlotte, NC.

“At Atrium Health, research plays an integral role in realizing our core mission – to improve health, elevate hope and advance healing – for all. Our investigators participate in and lead Phase I to IV research, and our organization is frequently sought after as a core research site for clinical trials.”

How Max Resistance2 Added Value

Discussing the project, Kevin Casey of New England Lab, stated: “The variety of materials used on this project, and in particular, the umbilical's and glass panels at the sink areas were unique to this type of research lab install.”

Casework in the lab from Mott Manufacturing includes Blueberry Taffy Plastic Laminate full overlay and Bright White metal full overlay creating a striking lab research area. To complement the light and airy color scheme, Fundermax’s Max Resistance2, White Color Through Core was selected as the work surface in specific areas.

This installation serves as a milestone for Fundermax, being the very first lab using the new Color Through Core lab grade material. Atrium Health has also had an important first, with one of its clinics being the site of the first COVID-19 vaccination in Charlotte, NC in December 2020.
