Aspirus Health Care System Reference Lab
The Aspirus Health Care System Reference Laboratory serves numerous hospitals, clinics, residential nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities in North Central Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan.
Recently, they have seen tremendous growth and decided to completely relocate their lab operation from the Wausau Hospital to a new location in a different building on the Wausau campus.
Aspirus’ needs are constantly evolving, so laboratory staff were interested in creating an environment in which all of the casework, countertops, and storage components could be reconfigurable. The laboratory space is 11,000 sq. ft. and 2,000 sq. ft. of Fundermax work surfaces.
This project required customized products to meet very specific needs that were beyond standard cataloged furniture. Altus tables were customized in size, with some including push-button height adjustability for immediate adjustments to worktop height. Tables were wrapped with Sigma Flex island panels for a higher-end look, and all mobile cabinets have modified heights. Quick easy and affordable customization for an attractive lab capable of changing to meet evolving user needs.
Fundermax's Max Resistance2 phenolic panels were able to provide the durability and cleanability that the client was looking for. Max Resistance2 is chemical resistant so it can withstand even the harshest chemicals needed to clean the workspace, which was attractive to the client, who had used Fundermax panels in the past.
